Private party Queen to meet her namesake for first time
The Queen is expected to finally meet her namesake Lilibet Mountbattenwindsor, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex bow out of official jubilee duties today in order to celebrate their daughter’s first birthday.
The Sussexes will spend the day privately “as a family”, it is understood.
Yesterday, they returned to their Windsor home of Frogmore Cottage after the St Paul’s Cathedral thanksgiving service.
The Queen, who lives nearby at Windsor Castle, is expected to meet her greatgranddaughter for the first time, and be reunited with three-yearold Archie for the first time since he was a baby.
The decision to spend the day in private means that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not attend the Platinum party at the Palace for the Jubilee.
