This informative series continues with David Chipperfield’s renovation
of Mies van der Rohe’s Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, which has taken six years to complete. Chipperfield describes the process by which he carried out the total refurbishment of the building’s advanced concrete, steel and glass structure and the general upgrading of its ageing services as “a strange experience but a privilege”.
