Academic charged with wife’s murder

A UNIVERSITY academic has been charged over the murder of his wife after she was found stabbed ahead of the jubilee weekend.

Ertan Ersoy, 50, of Wickham Road, Colchester, will appear at Colchester magistrates’ court today over the death of Dr Antonella Castelvedere, 52. Ms Castelvedere, a lecturer at Suffolk University, was discovered at the home she shared with Dr Ersoy and their daughter. Dr Ersoy was also employed at the university.

Det Chief Insp Antony Alcock said: “[We] are continuing to gather accounts from witnesses.”
