Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte

(1964, b/w) Talking Pictures TV, 9pm ★★★

-

Originally conceived as a follow-up to What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, this heady horror sees Olivia De Havilland step into the role that was vacated by Joan Crawford during filming. The story follows an ageing Southern belle (Bette Davis) whose mind slowly fails after a long lost cousin (De Havilland) re-emerges. A creeping tale in faithful Southern Gothic style.
