The quickest fix
SIR – Andrew Wands’s story about swift coffee machine repairs in Sydney (Letters, June 9) reminded me of a colleague who transferred to Jakarta.
After a while he noticed that the Ricoh copier maintenance engineer was always present. He asked his office manager if this was because the machines were unreliable. The reply was that, for every 10 copiers, you get one free engineer permanently on site. Keith Appleyard
