Petrol-price escalator

-

SIR – A few years ago, Labour when in power had a policy called the fuelprice escalator. The idea was that petrol prices rose at a high rate to dissuade people from using their cars.

The Conservatives abandoned this policy, much to Labour’s disgust.

Current high fuel prices are a return to the Labour Party’s policy.
