Starmer’s integrity
sir – Sir Keir Starmer (Interview, June 11) says he believes that integrity is important, and that he is taking a strong stance on Nato.
This is the same Sir Keir who, only three years ago, was campaigning hard to make Jeremy Corbyn prime minister. Had he succeeded we would probably be out of Nato by now.
This is also the same Sir Keir who, for three years after the EU referendum, fought against the result, even though it was the clear and democratic expression of the will of the British people.
What integrity?

sir – I agree with Sir Keir that Britain does not need a “showman” as prime minister.
Much is made of his perceived woodenness and lawyerly approach. What of it? I would rather have gravitas and attention to detail than the present Prime Minister’s “disarming” wit. If the leader of the opposition is considered uncharismatic, so be it. Charisma is an overrated trait in politics. Judith A Daniels
