Jim Carrey stars as Charlie Baileygates, a Rhode Island cop who suffers from a multiple-personality disorder, in this Farrelly brothers film premised around a day he forgets to take his medication. As a pretext for comedy, it has aged like full-fat milk – but it’s not without some redeeming qualities. Carrey is fun as we watch him simultaneously charm Renée Zellweger (Irene) and try his best to control a more violent self.
