DRAMA Miss Scarlet and the Duke

Alibi, 9pm This crime-busting period procedural set in the time of Jack the Ripper returns. Series two opens with sleuth Eliza Scarlet (Kate Phillips) throwing a spanner into her love life by choosing to tackle a missing person’s case that her love interest has supposedly already closed. Despite the romantic friction, this is an anodyne period piece with a lot of pearl-clutching about a woman doing a man’s job.
