Press excluded from Greenwood bail hearing
Mason Greenwood, the Manchester United and England footballer, will have his bail application heard without the press and public present next week, after his arrest on suspicion of raping and assaulting a woman.
Greater Manchester Police has asked the court to extend the 20-year-old’s bail while it continues its investigation into the allegations.
The hearing will take place on Thursday at a closed session of Manchester and Salford magistrates’ court.
Greenwood was arrested in January after police were told images and videos had been posted online by a woman saying she had been assaulted.
