Mcdonald’s ends French tax probe
Mcdonald’s has agreed a €1.25bn (£1.1bn) payout to settle an investigation into claims it unfairly shifted profits out of France to cut its tax bill. As part of the settlement, which is yet to be approved by a judge in Paris, Mcdonald’s will not be pleading guilty. A spokesman said Mcdonald’s had paid more than €2.2bn in corporate income tax in France from 2009 to 2020.
