Man jailed for life after ‘butchering’ teacher

A man who butchered a young teacher in the bedroom of her shared Christian accommodation will serve a minimum of 31 years behind bars.

Zbigniew Soj, 24, stabbed Borbala “Bori” Benko 40 times in a sexually motivated attack, and then left to stab Klaudia Rogozinka, 21, in her room.

Polish-born Soj had been drinking before he entered his victim’s bedrooms with the intent of killing them as they slept, Bradford Crown Court heard.

Judge Jonathan Rose said the attacks were “premeditated, prolonged, extensive and brutal”. Soj pleaded guilty to murder and attempted murder and received a life sentence.
