Father Time

-

One of the world’s most famous sporting symbols is the weather vane at Lord’s. Depicting Father Time, it is said to represent Law 12.3 from the Laws of Cricket: “After the call of Time, the bails shall be removed from both wickets.”

Presented to the ground by Sir Herbert Baker, the architect of the Grand Stand, in 1926, the weather vane now sits atop the clock on the lift shaft between the Mound and Tavern Stands.

Rather fittingly, the Oris logo has been placed below the clock where it is watched over by Father Time himself.
