The Duke of York reached Plymouth about the time that the Renown had passed out of the haze into full view from the port, and his Royal Highness proceeded to the residence of Admiral Sir Montague Browning, the Commander-in-chief. When the visit of ceremony to the Comus was over, the Duke of York and the Admiral put off in the Commanderin-chief’s barge, and the two Royal brothers met on the quarter deck of the Renown.
