Remote medicine

sir – The NHS tells us that seeing your GP remotely is good for the environment because it removes the need to travel (report, June 21).

So does having your car MOT’D without taking it to the garage – but it does not really work.

sir – My 93-year-old mother needs a hospital hearing test, which has to be accessed via her GP. For this, her surgery is only able to offer her a telephone appointment.
