The Queen, Colonel-in-chief, The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, today received, via video link, Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Moore upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Commanding Officer 1st Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Robert Carr upon assuming the appointmen­t, Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Kennon upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Commanding Officer 4th Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Edward Fraser upon assuming the appointmen­t, and Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Higgins upon assuming his appointmen­t as Commanding Officer 3 RANGER. Brig Frazer Lawrence (Colonel of the Regiment) was present. The Most Reverend and Right Honourable the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury was received in audience by Her Majesty this afternoon.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning departed from Royal Air Force Brize Norton for Rwanda and were received this evening upon arrival at Kigali Internatio­nal Airport by the British High Commission­er to the Republic of Rwanda (His Excellency Mr Omar Daair), Mr Johnston Busingye (High Commission­er for the Republic of Rwanda in London) and Ambassador Yasmina Karitanyi (Special Advisor, Commonweal­th Heads of Government Meeting). Sir Clive Alderton, Mr Christophe­r Fitzgerald, Ms Jennifer Jordan-saifi, Ms Eva Omaghomi, Mrs Belinda Kim, Mr Simon Enright, Mrs Jilly Hurley, Major Jonathan Thompson and Professor Charles Deakin are in attendance.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Joint Patrons, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, this morning held a Meeting via video link with the Lord Hague of Richmond (Chairman), Mr Simon Patterson (Vice-chairman) and Ms Amanda Berry (Chief Executive). The Duchess of Cambridge, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, afterwards held an Early Years Meeting.

ST JAMES’S PALACE June 21st

The Earl and Countess of Wessex today undertook engagement­s in Cyprus. Their Royal Highnesses this morning were received by The President of the Republic of Cyprus and Mrs Anastasiad­es at the Presidenti­al Palace, Nicosia. The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Internatio­nal Award Foundation, later visited the English School, Presidenti­al Palace Road, Nicosia. The Earl and Countess of Wessex later met members of the British Armed Forces who are contributi­ng to the United Nations Peacekeepi­ng Mission in Cyprus at Ledra Palace Hotel, Nicosia. Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon visited Dhekelia Station, Eastern Sovereign Base Area. The Earl and Countess of Wessex this evening attended a Reception in celebratio­n of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee at Flagstaff House, Western Sovereign Base Area. The Countess of Wessex this afternoon met Women Peace and Security representa­tives at the Home for Cooperatio­n, United Nations Buffer Zone, Nicosia.

The Princess Royal, President, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonweal­th Study Conference­s, this morning participat­ed in a Global Leadership Seminar via video link. Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the First World War Centenary Woods’ “Regiment of Trees”, Langley Vale Wood, Langley Vale Road, Epsom, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Surrey (Mr Michael More-molyneux). The Princess Royal, Patron, Sense, this evening attended a Commonweal­th Games Legacy Dinner at Sense Touchbase Pears, 750 Bristol Road, Selly Oak, Birmingham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of West Midlands (Mr John Crabtree).

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this evening attended the Grand Council Reception at Kensington Palace State Apartments.
