Jubilee plaque removed over spelling mistakes

-

A Platinum Jubilee plaque unveiled just days ago in Birmingham city centre is to be replaced after several spelling mistakes were spotted.

The panel was unveiled last week by the Earl of Wessex in the city’s Victoria Square, but within days, eight errors were noticed by the public.

They included the word ruling spelled “rulling”, sovereignty spelled “sovereignity” and Platinum Jubilee written as “Planinum Jubilee”. Jim Walker, the chief executive of the Commonwealth Walkway Trust, which commissioned the piece, said: “We will be sorting it out in the next couple of weeks. It’s my fault. Trying to do too much, too fast.”
