THREE teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a female Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) was stabbed in a “targeted attack”.

The officer was walking home from work at a station in Esher, Surrey, when she was approached by a youth wearing a hooded top and a face mask, who stabbed her in the arm.

The victim was wearing part of her PCSO uniform at the time and detectives believe she was targeted because of her connections with the police. The incident occurred on Tuesday on Old Church Path in Esher.

The officer was taken to hospital with serious injuries and the suspect, described as white, aged 14 to 15 and slim, fled the scene in the direction of Esher Park Avenue.

Appealing for witnesses, Detective Inspector Gareth Hicks said: “We do believe this was a targeted attack as the PCSO was wearing parts of her uniform.”

Three teenagers – two 15year-olds and a 14-year-old – arrested soon after the attack have been released under investigation and inquiries remain ongoing, police said.
