Russian oil refinery hit after suspected Kyiv drone attack
A SUSPECTED Ukrainian kamikaze drone yesterday hit a major oil refinery in Russia’s south and caused a large fire, in what appears to be a fresh attack by Kyiv on Russian soil.
Footage showed the combat drone flying low over the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in the Rostov region, near the border, before it plunged into the site.
Vasily Golubev, the governor of Rostov, confirmed the attack, saying that two unidentified drones might have struck the refinery.
Russian forces are controlling the other side of the border in the Donbas, with Ukraine’s closest positions about 80 miles away.
Ukraine has conducted a number of suspected air raids against Russian fuel and ammunition depots since the war began in February.
