Clearing the air Government plans to go green on aviation
Electric planes will be used on domestic flights by 2030 as the Government hopes for flying to go green and not reach pre-covid emissions levels.
Unveiled yesterday, the plans include a switch to 10 per cent sustainable fuel and telling people a trip’s carbon footprint when they book.
Grant Shapps, the Transport Secretary, said yesterday: “From now on, it should all be downhill for carbon emissions – and steadily uphill for green flights.”
