Catcher choo-choo

SIR – We once went on a miniature railway trip in Northumberland, where an oystercatcher (Letters, July 18) had built its nest on the track. As the train approached, the bird got off the nest and let it pass before returning. The driver slowed both ways to ensure the birds had sufficient notice.
