Trans women face ban from female rugby
The Rugby Football Union has recommended that its council vote to ban trans people “assigned male at birth” from female contact rugby in a bid to “prioritise fairness of competition and safety of players”. A new gender participation policy will be put forward to the RFU Council next week, after what the governing body called “extensive stakeholder consultation”, a “thorough review of scientific evidence” and “access to medical and social information”.
