Bulgaria gives most bang for your buck
BULGARIA has toppled Turkey to become the cheapest holiday destination, as budget travellers venture outside of the Eurozone.
Sunny Beach in Bulgaria and Marmaris in Turkey are the joint-cheapest of 16 European resorts, according to Post Office Travel Money’s latest family holiday report, produced with travel company Tui.
The report estimated that it would cost about £86 for 12 common holiday expenses – including a family meal, sun cream and beach items – at the two destinations, and suggested prices have doubled in Marmaris compared with summer 2019.
Britons pay almost 11 per cent more than three years ago in Marmaris, compared with 8 per cent at Sunny Beach.
The most expensive was Ibiza, with a cost of about £186.
