Rich North Koreans eat dog meat as rest suffer
Restaurants serving dog meat in North Korea are filling up with Communist Party officials enjoying the delicacy as the country faces a food crisis.
Sources in the North said while it is getting harder for families to buy rice, corn or flour, high-ranking officials and wealthy entrepreneurs are reserving tables at specialist dog meat restaurants in droves, Radio Free Asia reported. A dog meat dish typically costs twice as much as pork, with a bowl of dog meat stew costing the same as more than 4lbs of rice.
