Human remains found in wreckage of mill fire

-

Human remains have been discovered in the burnt-out shell of a mill, police have revealed, following a report that four Vietnamese nationals may have gone missing in the fire.

The blaze tore through Bismarck House Mill in Oldham, Greater Manchester, on May 7, with fire crews battling for four days to bring it under control.

Initially no one was thought to have been in the building when the fire took hold, but Greater Manchester Police received a tip off on July 21 that four Vietnamese nationals were missing and may have been involved in a fire.

On Saturday, demolition workers at the site were said to have made the grim discovery of human remains. The force has declared a major incident.

It was last night unclear how many people died in the blaze.
