My body froze, says school crash driver

-

A mother of two wept as she told officers “I lost control” after her 4x4 ploughed into children outside a primary school, a court has heard.

Eight pupils and parents were struck by the Toyota Rav4 outside Beatrix Potter Primary School in Earlsfield, south-west London, on Sept 8 2020.

Dolly Rincon-aguilar, 39, from Wandsworth, who was collecting children from the school, has pleaded not guilty to eight counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

In a video of a police interview shown to the jury at Kingston Crown Court, Ms Rincon-aguilar said: “I lost control and I was completely numb. I was so scared, my body froze.”
