Firefighters battled yesterday to dampen down flames after farmers set fire to manure and hay bales during a protest in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. Farmers and activists held demonstrations across the country against plans by the Dutch government to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxide and ammonia, which are produced by livestock, by 2030.
