Random knife attacker imprisoned for 38 years

-

A student has been jailed for at least 38 years for killing one man and injuring two others during a spree of “random” knife attacks.

Amine Laouar, 21, was handed a life sentence for stabbing 48-year-old Leon Street to death after he left home to go to a shop in Neasden, north London, at 9.30pm on Jan 11 last year.

Minutes earlier Mirvais Khan, 32, had been attacked just 150m away and six days later Mitul Karaniya, 47, was knifed in the same area.

Prosecutor Bill Emlyn Jones QC told the Old Bailey: “In each case, the victim appears to have been chosen completely at random.” Laouar denied all the charges against him.
