Archie must be kept on life support, UN rules

-

Archie Battersbee, 12, must be kept alive while the UN considers his case.

The United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons With Disabilities has issued an injunction stating that care must not be withdrawn yet after his parents appealed.

The UK has an obligation under international human rights law to comply with interim measures indicated by the Committee.

The couple lost fights in both the High Court and the Court of Appeal in London where they asked for doctors to keep his treatment going.

Hollie Dance, Archie’s mother, said: “I am so grateful to the UN for their response and acting so quickly.”
