Leadership insults

-

SIR – The Government faces the most difficult problems for many decades, yet the two remaining candidates for prime minister, and their supporters, have insulted the public by reducing the debate to trivialities and personal attack.

The leadership campaign has highlighted the poor quality of our MPS. I am an optimist, but I am increasingly concerned for the future generations.

SIR – If Liz Truss wins and becomes prime minister, will she include, in her promised laws against catcalling, those ghastly “Are you going to resign, prime minister?” characters resident in Downing Street? I hope so.
