Ground elder miracle
SIR – Last September you printed a letter from Graham Lovelock, who claimed that planting turnip seeds prevents the growth of ground elder.
Being invaded by ground elder from both sides, and as my daughter had a packet of turnip seeds attached to a garden magazine, I gave it a go.
Improbable as it sounds, it appears to be working. No ground elder grows where I have planted the seeds.
So I would like to shake Mr Lovelock’s hand and thank him.
