Fields of gold

A farmer carries baskets of dahlias, harvested from vast fields on the outskirts of Bangalore, Karnataka state, southern India. The farms are also well-known for the cultivation of gladioli, jasmine and orchids. The flowers, grown on 22,000 hectares across the state, are exported to Japan and the UK.
