The price is ripe

SIR – I don’t know where Margaret Hirst buys her cherries at 18.5p each (Letters, August 3), but yesterday I went to my local Marks & Spencer and bought a large box for £5.

Having nothing better to do, I decided to count how many were in the box – 106. Pretty reasonable, I thought.
