Teenage boy dies after being stabbed in a park

A 15-year-old boy has died after being stabbed in a north London park.

Officers were called to Highbury Fields in Islington just before 9pm on Thursday, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said.

The boy was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.

There have been no arrests and inquiries into the incident are continuing, Scotland Yard said.

A cordon around Highbury Fields covers the whole park and will be in place for “at least the rest of the day” and possibly for a couple of days, police at the scene said.
