Grandfather arrested as police raid wrong house
Ten police in six cars arrested an 81-year-old pensioner in the middle of the night after turning up at the wrong house, his granddaughter claimed.
Bedfordshire Police officers arrived at the man’s home in Potton at 3am to investigate reports of a disturbance.
The man, who is understood to suffer from dementia, was allegedly left with bruises on his arms after being taken into custody. Bedfordshire Police force has voluntarily referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct over the incident.
The granddaughter, Kayla, said: “He was terrified.”
