A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-korbel.

The 34-year-old was last night being questioned by detectives on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, Merseyside Police said.

A 41-year-old man from Knowsley has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and is also in custody.

Both were arrested in the Runcorn area in the early hours yesterday. Olivia was fatally shot at her home in Dovecot, Liverpool, on Aug 22. A gunman had chased convicted burglar Joseph Nee into the property at about 10pm.

The attacker then fired into the house killing Olivia and wounding her mother, Cheryl Korbel, 46.

Mrs Korbel is still receiving treatment for her injuries.

Later yesterday police said officers executed warrants at two addresses in the Liverpool area and arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender.

He is in police custody where he is being questioned by detectives.
