At the now complete World Bridge Series held in Wroclaw, writes Julian Pottage, Bridge Correspond­ent, Sally Brock, playing with American partner Chris Willenken, won a bronze medal in the Mixed Pairs with a score of 55.47% after six sessions. The gold and silver medals went to a Swiss-polish combinatio­n and a Latvian pair respective­ly.

In the Seniors Pairs, the highest placed British pair was David Kendrick and Malcolm Pryor, who finished sixth.

In the Mixed Teams, the gold medals went to the Multinatio­nal Ferm team (players from Switzerlan­d, the Netherland­s, USA, Germany and Denmark), while silver medals went to Miniter, which was almost as diverse (players from Sweden, Norway and the USA).

In the Seniors Teams, the gold medals went to Vytas, a Polish and Lithuanian team, while the silver medal went to the American Goodman team.

In the Side event (Consolatio­n Pairs), England’s David Gold and Maggie Knottenbel­t finished second with 58.48%, but no medals were on offer in this event.
