‘Dystopian’ competitio­n ditched by daytime TV

the ITV daytime show, has ditched a competitio­n that gave viewers the chance to have their energy bills paid after it was branded “dystopian” on social media.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, its hosts, offered viewers the chance to have their energy bills paid until the end of the year in a “spin to win” contest. The wheel no longer features “energy bills” labels and displays cash prizes of between £800 and £2,000 instead. Nearly 200 people complained to regulator Ofcom.
