Emerson strike lifts West Ham
A first goal from new signing Emerson and a late clincher from substitute Michail Antonio enabled West Ham to complete a comeback victory in their opening Europa Conference League group fixture.
The former Chelsea defender added to substitute Jarrod Bowen’s penalty equaliser after FCSB had taken a 34thminute lead through Andrei Cordea.
Bowen levelled after Maxwel Cornet had been hurt in a collision with Stefan Tarnovanu that referee Benoit Bastien decided was a foul. Var, had it been in operation, might have overturned that.
Emerson thumped the ball home after Antonio had tussled with a defender in the box. Antonio then made sure of the win by turning his marker and sprinting away to score.
