Tube passengers talked machete attacker down
Commuters who tried to calm down a machete attacker on the Tube have been recommended for awards.
Passengers fled when Ricky Morgan launched an unprovoked assault on James Porritt on the Jubilee line between Green Park and Bond Street on July 9 last year.
Mr Porritt suffered a severe injury to his right hand as well as bone-deep cuts to his head and shin.
Morgan was jailed for life yesterday after being found guilty of attempted murder at the Old Bailey in May.
Judge John Hillen praised Vladislav Schico and Ricky Walkes, who helped calm Morgan down, and said they will be commended for their bravery.
