Missionary sees Queen’s casket seven times

- By Catherine Lough

A WOMAN who queued up to view the Queen’s casket in Edinburgh seven times says she was mainly inspired by the late monarch’s Christian faith.

Elizabeth Sabey, a 43-year-old evangelist and missionary, planned to go in as many times as she could before the coffin departed for RAF Northolt yesterday evening.

She said she started queuing at 5pm on Monday, adding: “I’m still going now. I haven’t had a coffee since seven o’clock at night.

“Everybody came to pay their respects and it felt so peaceful and beautiful. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, when you go round once it’s like you just want to remember it.”

Ms Sabey said she had made a “little family” among those queuing who had woken her up when she drifted off to sleep during the wait overnight.
