MCC ‘trampling over tradition’ in Eton row

Marylebone Cricket Club has pleaded with members to block a rebellion over the scrapping of the Eton-harrow and Oxford-cambridge fixtures at Lord’s. More than 200 members claim the MCC has “trampled over the history and traditions of Lord’s”. They want the fixtures to be reinstated. The rebels’ resolution will be voted on at a special general meeting next Tuesday. Bruce Carnegie-brown, the club chairman, has written to members asking for their support in defeating the revolt.
