Waitrose variations

-

sir – Tony Foot (Letters, October 17) and I go to the same Waitrose.

Is our difference of opinion down to the time of day we shop? On Saturday mornings at 9am, the store is bright, full of friendly staff and well stocked. Tim Wright

sir – In 2019 I had an operation on the vertebrae in my neck and the dressings were clearly visible. When I entered my local Waitrose, one of the assistants immediately asked how I was and whether I required any help. I didn’t, so got on with my shopping.

When I left the store, the same assistant presented me with a huge bouquet of flowers, with best wishes on behalf of Waitrose. I cannot tell you how well that made me feel.
