Burglar found asleep with stolen goods jailed
A bungling burglar who was arrested by police after being found asleep surrounded by stolen items has been jailed for three years.
Miroslav Jano, 34, was apprehended on April 4 after officers attending a break-in at a flat in Dover, Kent, discovered him in possession of stolen goods while sleeping in a communal area of the building.
Further investigation led to the recovery of forensic evidence which conclusively linked Jano to a bag left behind at another burglary less than a mile away. Inside the bag were war medals which had been stolen during further offences. He was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment.
