Black people more worried about crime

Black people are more concerned about crime than white people, a survey has found.

The research, based on 5,455 adults of whom 1,500 were black, found that 75 per cent of black African and Caribbean people were concerned about crime, compared with 62 per cent of white adults.

Black parents told researcher­s from Crest Advisory that they worried about their children being singled out by gangs. Black people were more suspicious of the police, with 46 per cent saying they trusted officers compared with 64 per cent of white adults.
