Lawes unlikely to play for England until 2023

Eddie Jones does not expect to pick Courtney Lawes for England until next year’s rugby Six Nations and says he is concerned for the player’s health. Lawes, 33, who captained England to a 2-1 series victory over Australia in July, has not played since he failed a head injury assessment in Northampton’s Premiership match against Leicester in September. It is understood that he has tried to return to contact training, only to experience a recurrence of concussive symptoms.
