Petula Clark at the BBC
BBC Four, from 9pm
There is more to Petula Clark (who turns 90 next week) than her 1964 hit song Downtown, as this wideranging archive trawl demonstrates: beginning with her nascent stardom as “Britain’s Shirley Temple” in the 1940s, it spools through to Jools’ Annual Hootenanny
in 2013. A 1974 Valentine’s Day concert follows at 10pm, before an episode of her 1973 show The Sound of Petula at 11.30pm.
QI
BBC Two, 10pm
If QI is on to its 20th series, that must mean it’s time for the letter “T”. Accordingly, Sandi Toksvig puts the
questions about tips and tools to Joe Lycett, Bill Bailey, Holly Walsh and Alan Davies.
