Jazzed up Radio 3

SIR – I have noticed recently that traditionally classical Radio 3 programmes are now playing jazz. While I like both types of music, they do not sit well in close succession.

As Barry Bright points out (“BBC’S classical output”, Letters, November 12), this seems to be an attempt to encourage younger listeners. If only there were other radio stations aimed at the younger generation.
