Woman ‘aided genital mutilation of girl’, 3

A woman accused of aiding the genital mutilation of a three-year-old girl appeared in court yesterday.

Amina Noor, 38, allegedly took the child to Kenya where the procedure was performed.

Noor appeared at Westminster magistrates court, with Stuart Harris, defending, indicating his client would be pleading not guilty.

Prosecutor Jason Seetal told the court Noor took the victim to Kenya, where the procedure, which involves the removal of the entire clitoris, was performed.

Noor, of Edgware, northwest London, was granted unconditional bail ahead of a plea and trial.
