Tesco direct suffers online glitch

Shoppers were hit by a glitch that pushed them to the back of a queue of more than 290,000 people as they attempted to book a Tesco Christmas delivery slot yesterday. Those who pay for an anytime delivery plan with Tesco, at a cost of £7.99 a month, should be able to access priority delivery slots over the Christmas period.

However, customers complained the queue opened before the advertised time of 6am, with many joining to find tens of thousands of others already waiting.
